Tayside Health Fund Charity Bottles Whisky Auctioneer offer five charity lots to support local NHS amid the COVID-19 outbreak

Back to news

We have all felt the effects of the ongoing global COVID-19 crisis, Whisky Auctioneer greatly values our global community of customers and we are thinking about you all at this time.

We cannot begin to express the extent of our gratitude to the NHS and care workers who are fighting the pandemic on our behalf on a daily basis. In support of our local NHS who are working tirelessly to care for patients and undertake research to bring COVID-19 to a close, we have featured five NHS Charity Lots in our March Auction.

All five lots are of the very latest bottling from Whisky Sponge in collaboration with independent bottler Decadent Drinks, a superb 17 year old Port Charlotte distilled in 2002 and bottled at cask strength in 2019.

Port Charlotte is a heavily peated single malt produced at Bruichladdich distillery, introduced after Murray McDavid purchased the distillery 2001. The brand is named after a historic distillery in the eponymous neighbouring town. Having been traditionally an un-peated single malt due to the needs of its former owners for their blends, Murray McDavid were quick to diversify the Bruichladdich portfolio, also introducing the even peatier Lochindaal and Octomore.

As an acknowledgment of the bravery of the NHS and in support of their ongoing effort we will donate 100% of the funds raised from the five bottles, including the 10% buying commission, to the NHS Tayside Health Fund, Whisky Auctioneer's local NHS charity.

Please bid generously in support of the NHS Tayside Health Fund.
