Old Pulteney 35 Year Old / includes Experience
A well-aged and well-presented Old Pulteney, matured in ex-bourbon American oak and ex-sherry Spanish oak selected by distillery manager Malcolm Waring.
The ornate wooded box has a porthole and a depiction of a classic herring drifter which has become a symbol of the brand.
The bottle has been generously donated by Inverhouse Distillers to raise funds for the Beatson Cancer Charity. The lot also includes a visit to the Pulteney distillery in Wick, including a private tour and tutored tasting with the Distillery Manager.
From Inverhouse Distillers:
"Only 1,350 bottles were produced of the limited edition Old Pulteney 35 Years Old in 2014. The whisky is matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and further matured in Spanish oak casks, which were specially selected by Pulteney distillery manager Malcolm Waring for this limited release. The expression is presented in a beautiful wooden case, which features a port hole connecting drinkers back to our maritime home of Wick.
Appearance: Light amber
Aroma: The initial wave of honey sweetness, exotic spices and citrus is followed by fruit cake and bitter chocolate. Over time gentle undertones open up with hints of fresh vanilla and sticky toffee pudding. A truly indulgent whisky on the nose, which is balanced by the long maturation
Taste: Full bodied and bursting with attitude. This exceptional dram is sweet and spice and quickly develops a range of signature Old Pulteney flavours from honey, rum soaked raisins and Californian oranges to the heavier notes of seasoned leather, pralines and a touch of the salty North Sea air. A slow long finish with gentle waves of dried fruit and silky tannins."
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
