product Details

Brora 1982 Silver Seal 19 Year Old / First Bottling

A Silver Seal bottling of Brora, distilled in March 1982 and bottled in September 2001.

This is one of the first bottlings from the Silver Seal Company, who were founded by Ernesto Mainardi in 2000. This was Mainardi's second bottling company after the esteemed Sestane in 1979. Both companies were sold to Massimo Righi in 2010, with Ernesto's original releases becoming increasingly prized possessions.

Brora distillery, formerly known as Clynelish was initially closed after a new distillery was built next-door in 1967, and assumed the Clynelish name. The original distillery re-opened after a year's hiatus, and bottlings of the whisky it produced between then and its second closure in 1983 are now increasingly sought after.

One of 240 bottles.
