Ardbeg 1974 Kingsbury 26 Year Old
This is a fantastic independently bottled Ardbeg, from Japan's Kingsbury.
Japan's most sought after independent bottler, Kingsbury was created in 1989 by Campbeltown based luxury delicatessen; Eaglesome.
Eaglesome was eventually purchased by J & A Mitchell & Co - owners of Springbank distillery - who turned it into one of the region's finest whisky merchants. Initially Kingsbury was bottled by its Scottish owners exclusively for the Japanese market, though the label was, in turn, acquired by native firm, Japanese Import System. The brand is responsible for a number of some of the most collectible whiskies, including a Bowmore 1966, and a number of Ardbeg.
Distilled in 1967 and matured in a hogshead for 26 years.
This bottle is number 27 of only 278.
