Brewdog Tactical Nuclear Penguin Stout 32% / Double Whisky Casked
This is a a very interesting offering from pseudo-anarchic Scottish brewers, Brewdog. At the time of bottling in 2009, this was the Guinness World Record-holding strongest beer ever bottled, at 32%. The previous record being held by German beer brand, Schorschbraer, with 31%.
The beer is an Imperial Stout, taking its Penguin themed name from the "antarctic" levels of cold it was exposed to in the maturation process, spending a 3 week period stored at -20 degrees at a local ice cream factory in order to drive up the ABV.
Prior to this extreme chilling, the beer was matured for 16 months in whisky barrels, one an ex-Arran cask, and the other from an undisclosed Islay distillery.
The bottle comes equipped with a stopper for resealing purposes as this should certainly not be consumed in one sitting.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
