Lion's Vat 1937-1989 Charity Bottling / 1 of only 40
Since 2008, whisky collector and connoisseur, Diego Sandrin, poured a small measure of every bottle he had ever opened and sampled into two small oak casks, until both were full. The contents of the casks were there transferred into two more. Both of these new barrels he had used to first to age Venetian wine (one Raboso and one Fragolino) and then used to experimentally re-cask and finish Laphroaig 10 year old cask strength. These casks were left for another 5 years before bottling for charity.
Thsi unique vatting contains over 500 different whiskies, including both of Whiskybase.com's joint top rated drams, the Samaroli 1967 Laphroaig and 1966 Bowmore Bouquet. See lot photos for the full mouth-watering breakdown.
One of only 40 bottles, all proceeds from the sale of this bottle, including commission, will be donated to two local Italian sports programs helping keep children off the streets and playing sports!
Bottle number 18.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
