Green River 1911 Kentucky Straight Whiskey / Pre-Prohibition
An incredible 1/5th of a gallon bottling of Kentucky Whiskey.
Bottled in bond tax strip indicates this was distilled in 1911 before being bottled in 1917 prior to the introduction of prohibition.
Produced by Green River Distilling Co, 2nd District, KY which opened in 1888 and was closed in 1918 due to a fire.
This was quite highly acclaimed with many awards including the medal of excellence at the 1883 Chicago Columbian Exposition, gold medal for quality at the Paris Exposition of 1900 and Grand Prize at the Exposition Universelle del Liege, Belgium 1905.
It also boast to have "been used for nineteen consecutive years in the United States Marine Hospital Service."
