Corti Brothers is an often overlooked but important name in the history of independently bottled Scotch Whisky. Founded in 1947 as a food and wine specialist shop, it was under the management of Darrell Corti in the 1980s that they began selecting and bottling some remarkable single malts. Indeed, Darrell noted in correspondence at the time that due to a downturn in the Scotch Whisky market there were some remarkable casks available to the discerning buyer. The selection appearing in our latest auction is the most comprehensive set of Corti Brothers bottlings ever assembled in one sale. Featuring legendary examples such as the Clynelish 1965 - one of only a handful of whiskies to achieve 98 points on Whiskyfun - Jura 1966, Springbank 1958 and Bowmore 1964. Not to mention the Highland Park 1963, which is the only bottled example of Highland Park from this vintage. These bottlings represent an important turning point in the recent history of Scotch Whisky and are one of the most highly prized series in terms of quality and variety. This is a unique occurrence to see such a comprehensive selection of these incredible bottlings in one auction.
