Springbank Special Boat Service 70th Anniversary (One of 48 Bottles)

This is an incredibly rare bottling of Springbank that was released privately to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Operation Chariot carried out by the Special Boat Service in 1942.

Operation Chariot was the code name of the infamous Commando raid on St Nazaire, a German naval base on the Loire, and was an early test for the newly formed Special Boat Service (SBS). Operation Chariot has been described in history as one of the most successful Commando raids of World War Two, despite the heavy losses.

Bottled in 2012 from cask #542 only 48 bottles were created, this is bottle number 36.

Please note there is a little damage to the inside of the box and the stopped has no official seal, we can of course confirm the authenticity of this.

Important Notice

We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.

Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
